For the first 21 days of March, I watched my sugar intake. I am grateful to have learned that: (1) I feel energized to have a little sugar in the morning… a piece of fruit or 4-6oz of juice works well. (2) It’s very hard to avoid sugar in “sports performance” or even “natural” foods like raw, vegan granola. Just eating sugar in the morning and around a workout meant about 40-50g of sugar / day! (3) I was also eating a smaller, low-protein-high-complex-carb dinner as my last meal of the day, and I found I wasn’t craving carbs or sugars.
