Candidly, my best mistake was that my first marriage didn’t work out. I say this not only because it was sad but because it resulted in an amazing gift. I am blessed with two stepdaughters who are amazing, intelligent and beautiful young women. We have a great relationship and they’ve made me a grandmother of three darling little girls ages 8 months-7 years old. In essence that marriage is the gift that keeps on giving. We will have an enduring relationship.
I met my husband in 1988, as a sophmore at UCLA. It was 9 years before we started dating, so perhaps that was a mistake that I didn’t recognize the love of my life sooner! On the other hand, perhaps we needed those years to grow for ourselves and learn all about each other. That would make it a good mistake.
